                                          Ocean Calling

I decided to draw a conch shell because I love going to the beach and I think their really pretty shells. I also want to draw something a little challenging. Though drawing the outline of the shell was not the hard part it was trying to contour it.

When creating this piece I first drew four shells from different angles and positions. Then I picked which shell looked the best. After deciding which shell I practiced cross contour with pen and ink. When I got comfortable using the ink I began working on my final.

                                  Beauty

The reason I chose to draw this woman is because she is beautiful and I loved how the portrait of her was focused on the beauty of her face with a darken background. I also like how she had her fingers in the portrait which made it unique.

To create this piece I used a grid to help me map it out. After I mapped it out I began to add value to the eyes then made my way to the other features on the face. I used shading pencils to create the lighter and darker values.

                                 L L Lips

I chose to do this piece because the picture of the lips caught my eye. I also wanted the create a piece that could represent love.

My process in creating this took me awhile because I first had to decide on what exactly I was going to draw. Then I practiced using oil pastels which took me little bit to get use to. When I finally was comfortable using the oil pastels I began my final.

                                 Beachy

I chose to do a still life of seashells because I enjoy going to the beach. I always pick seashells so I decided to draw them.

My process in creating this still life piece took me a little while because it was difficult to draw something in real life. I practiced using charcoals which was really hard but once I felt comfortable using them I began my final.

                              Autophobia

I chose to paint this because I sometimes fear that I will be alone or unloved. I wanted to draw someone alone and that looked sad. So I did but my final is not how i wanted it to turn out. I feel like I could have done a lot better.

The steps I took to create this were first finding a phobia then doing four different scetches and deciding what I wanted to draw. After picking what to draw I traced it on the canvas and began to paint. I had to paint many layers.

                                  Lantern

I chose to make this piece because I wanted to make a useful clay box. so i decided to a candle holder which resembles a lantern.

The process in making this was first to create four different sketches of a design. Then begin by making a base and walls out of slap. After that i made a lid. When finishing the walls and lid I cut out designs on two of the walls and made a design on the lid. I had to wait for the clay to dry and go through the kiln and then glaze it and put it in the kiln a last time.

                     The Legend of Prince

I chose to make this piece because I enjoy Prince and he's music. I also want him to be remembered for he's impact. I wanted to do it in pencil because I feel like I'm stronger in this media.

My process in making this was creating sketches to practice how I wanted it to look. My partner and I then began to draw the face and worked around the face adding values. We then drew the hair and clothes. After finishing drawing Prince we added his symbol.

                                 Castaway

I chose to do this piece because I wanted to make a landscape with the ocean. I also think sail boats are beautiful and I wanted a colorful background so I painted this.

My process in making this was first to do the backwash with a lot of water and very little color. Then I added the details and made finishing touches.

                             Life's Short

I chose to draw these because I wanted to show that life's short. And I wanted it to be shown in kind of a funny way.

My process was first to make four sketches then choosing which sketch I liked best. Then I began my final and I added color.
